A collection of books written by Marion Haines Duplantis.

I'm delighted to meet all of you who are interested in reading my books. Here is a little bit about me. I was raised in California. Then, I moved to Louisiana when my then-boyfriend mailed me an engagement ring. I was only 18. We have now been married for 65 years. We have five children, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. One of the first things I ever wrote was for a clean-up campaign for our City. It was a play called Auntie-Litter. The ladies in our Homemaker club produced and performed the play in all of the schools in our city. We won the State Award for the play that year. The first book I had published was "The Little Pumpkin." My grandson's teacher asked me to come to school to read a Halloween story to her 4th-grade class. Instead, I wrote an original story for his class. The TV station was there, and it was a wonderful experience for the children. With all this wonderful big family that I now have, I have lots of inspiration for more stories. My nephew, Chuck, created the art for my first book, featuring lots of colorful pictures, which I always love. I will always have a good moral lesson in my books. My mind is always thinking and tuned into life situations. I have a quirky sense of humor, so some books are particularly amusing. I also examine other situations in life where I can shed light on those areas. Because of my sexual abuse when I was very young, I have a book written called "The Heavy Coat" written especially for those who have suffered or are suffering this trauma. I recently wrote a special story for a friend whose children were grieving the loss of their grandmother. I will get it published soon. My granddaughter, Alayna, is doing the artwork for it. "Morrie the Mouse" is about a mouse who kept telling his mother that a KING was going to be born in their stable. She wouldn't believe him, so he decided to investigate things on his own. "The Worm Who Lost His Wiggle" is about a worm who lost his wiggle and was afraid his friends wouldn't like him because he looked different. Instead, they helped him find it!!! "Wind Oh Wind" is about a little girl who searched day and night to find out where the wind was going. "The Bug" features a Cajun-inspired art style with a surprising twist. I also have my true life story, called "I Was Raised In A Chicken Coop But You Don't Hear Me Squawk'n." All the money I receive from selling my books, I put right back into publishing the next book. What will it be? Wait and see.....
